Trusting Through Difficult Times

Hey everyone! So sorry about last weeks post! But I will say it was a blessing in disguise. I think God wanted me to write about something different than I had originally planned.

These past few weeks, God had been teaching me so much about trusting Him, even through difficult things. I recently had to make some big, life altering decisions and they were really hard and painful. But through these things, God has been teaching me to lean on and trust in Him. Sometimes we may not understand why God has allowed something to happen, but we must remember He is so much greater and wiser than we are. (Isaiah 55:8-9) It's in the times when we aren't sure what will happen next, that God teaches us the most to lean on Him. One passage I found beautiful and encouraging was Lamentations 3:21-27.

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord. It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

This is what I wrote in my journaling Bible on this passage:

When we are struggling and feel defeated, remember the hope we have. That even when we feel unloved or broken, God's love never ends. And in His love, He does what's best for us. His mercies are continually new each and every morning. When all we can do is wait and cry out to Him, He will not leave us. Sometimes all we can do is cry and trust that He has a plan. Know He will not leave you in your time of need. You may feel broken, but He will be the one who holds all your pieces together. Trust in Him, hope in Him, wait on Him.

I don't know what you may be going through, but I know there is Someone who does. Even though you may not understand why something had to happen or what your future holds, God has a beautiful plan and will show it to you in His time. Until then my friend, trust in Him.

Devotion:
Job 23:13-14
But he is unchangeable, and who can turn him back? What he desires, that he does. For he will complete what he appoints for me, and many such things are in his mind.
-God is unchangeable. He is far greater than anything we could ever imagine. We can make our plans, but God is the one who is ultimately in control. He is not under the commad of our hopes and plans. Our lives are perfectly planned out according to God's will for us. The good and the bad that come are part of His plan and I can rest in the fact that it all has a purpose.
