To Those with a Heavy Heart

Hey everyone, sorry I have been MIA for a while. Life’s been a bit hectic.

So as some of you may know from my page on Instagram, I was supposed to start this a week ago haha. But I’m going to be honest with y’all, I didn’t because I didn’t think I could. I’ve really been struggling mentally and physically since then and instead of relying on the Lord’s strength, I relied on my own. I didn’t feel like I was in a good enough state to encourage others. But it was all a lie, and I let Satan use that to keep me from doing what I should be doing. These words should never be my own, but instead be the words God gives me. So it doesn’t matter how I feel or where I feel like I am spiritually or mentally, the Lord will direct me in what to say.

I wanna share with y’all what God has been teaching me this week, and I hope it encourages those of you who are struggling as well. So often in life, it’s easy to get bogged down with the worries and cares of this world. Things happen and we take our eyes off of Christ and start looking around us. We feel the weight and burden of our worries and cares, and it can take a toll on us. But that’s when we need the Lord the most. That’s when we need to be in prayer and His word, continually crying out to Him, seeking His will and direction. When our hearts are broken by those we care about most, when our bodies physically suffer, when we’re up losing sleep at night because we’re praying for God to just show us the way, those are the moments when we realize our weakness, when we realized we are frail, finite humans. Our wisdom and strength will get us no where. How often are we quick to look to ourselves or the wisdom of others instead of going to the author of Wisdom Himself? Are we so foolish to think He doesn’t have the answers? That He doesn’t care about His children and have their best interest in mind?

The Lord brought this chapter before me as I was sitting down to write and I needed this personally just as much as this blog did.

Psalm 34-

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together! I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack! 10 The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.11 Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. 12 What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? 13 Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. 14 Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. 15 The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. 16 The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. 17 When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. 20 He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. 21 Affliction will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be condemned. 22 The Lord redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

Look at the beautiful promises the Lord gives those who follow Him and His ways! Yes we will have trails and broken hearts and crushed spirits, but the Lord will never change. Even through the pain of this life, God will uphold and sustain us, He will give us the strength to get through. When we are dealing with the heaviness of life, we still must praise the Lord, for how could we not when He has redeemed us and saved us from the ultimate destruction? I know this is easier said than done, trust me I know, but let us once again turn our eyes on Christ and the blessings He has given, instead of focusing on our worries and cares!

Love you all so much! Also if y’all have anything you would like me to pray for or you have a certain topic you would like me to do a post on, send me a message through here or Instagram. Praying that God will continue giving us strength as we go through life and seek to live for Him!

  1. A great portion of scripture to dwell on! Thank you for sharing this. Praying for you to be encouraged also, by God's word, as you study to encourage others.
